How is Minute Maid Orange Juice made?

The oranges that go into all Minute Maid juices are carefully selected and picked at their peak of ripeness. After harvesting, the oranges are washed, sorted, and squeezed to collect fresh juice and natural oils. Depending on the product, the juice is either concentrated or chilled for safe storage and to preserve flavor. Before being delivered to you, some orange oil and essence (in the case of from-concentrate juices) collected during juice making is blended back to ensure consistent fresh tasting juice. Pulp may be added back too depending on the product. The juice is pasteurized to ensure safety, but as minimally as possible to preserve taste.

How does Minute Maid Orange Juice have such great taste?

Minute Maid Orange Juice never contains synthetic flavors, additives, or preservatives. Depending on the product, small amounts of juice and peel oil collected during juice making and distilled for taste and purity, are blended back into the juice. For from-concentrate juices, orange essence, likewise collected during juice making, is also blended back. This ensures a consistent and great tasting juice.

How do I interpret the “best if used by” date?

We make it easy to find the "best if used by" date on all our packages. On chilled products, look for it on the front of the package. For juice boxes and pouches, the date can be found on top of each as well as at the end of the carton. On frozen cans, you can find it on the end of the can opposite the tear strip.

The "best if used by" date indicates the last day the product is at its optimum taste and quality under recommended storage conditions. After mixing frozen products, the juice should be kept cold in the refrigerator and be consumed within five days.
