Fun Summer Treats

Posted Jul 11, 2016

While the weather heats up, stay cool with the family by making (and enjoying!) these tasty treats. All of these recipes are simple and quick, and are a great way to spend time together while school’s out.

Minute Maid Sorbet
You can use any of Minute Maid’s frozen lemonades for this recipe! Whether it’s Original Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, or Raspberry Lemonade, you can customize this delicious dairy-free sorbet any way you want. The below recipe uses Raspberry Lemonade and frozen raspberries for an extra fruity boost.

You’ll need:

  • One 12 oz can of frozen Minute Maid Raspberry Lemonade concentrate
  • ¼ Cup of honey
  • 1 ¾ cup of water
  • ¾ cup frozen raspberries

Put all the ingredients in a blender and use the high speed setting until smooth. Pour the sorbet into a container, such as a glass baking dish, and cover. Place the sorbet in the freezer until frozen mixing a few times in between. This will keep it smooth.

Once frozen, scoop and serve! You can add all kinds of goodies as garnish, like fresh fruit or gummy worms.

Juice Box Pops
What could be better than an ice cold juice box on a hot day? A juice box popsicle! These box pops are amazingly easy and fun to make with the help of little hands.

You’ll need:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Minute Maid Juice Boxes in any flavor
  • Assorted fruit

Carefully open the juice boxes using the flaps on the sides. Once open, take a few sips off the top to make room for fruit. Add assorted fruit such as grapes or berries to the juice boxes. Insert the popsicle sticks, and place the juice boxes in the freezer until frozen solid. Just peel away the box before enjoying! Of course, nothing beats a glass of cool and refreshing Minute Maid juice over ice! To spruce up your glass, try adding gummy worms or fruit to ice cubes before they freeze. As the ice melts, you’ll get a great surprise! You can read more about Freezer Fun for Kids here.
